My guardian angel is my great-grandmother Stella Elizabeth Dodd. She will be 91 years old next month. She has been battling kidney failure for the past 4 years. She is a very strong woman and she is full of wisdom. She has helped raise 32 grand children and other people that have needed help at some point in their life. Almost all the grand children have lived with her. Granny taught them how to spread their wings and fly. She has loved all of us when we where unloveable and given us tough love when we needed it. She is the only great grandmother I have known. We go and visit her often and when we do it makes me sad to know that one day I will not be able to sit and listen to all the stories she tells. I ask her if she is ready to go to heaven and she says yes in the most confident voice I have ever heard. She is a strong woman of faith and I know that she will be sitting at the feet of Jesus when she passes away. It still does not make it easy, but knowing I will see her again one day make me happy. I sure will miss her. My mom is really close to her and I know it will be hard on my mom. Granny babysat my mom and her sibling growing up because my grandma worked. My mom spend a lot of time with Granny and she calls Granny her second mom. I am thankful that my mom will be able to pass on traditions my Granny started in our family.

Aaron
My older brother, Aaron, has taught me about determination and not giving up on your dreams. I have watched him since his senior year in high school keep pursuing his dream of playing college ball even when things where at his worst. During his senior year he made a poor decision and went to a party. Although he didn’t do anything wrong someone reported to the head football coach that he was at a party with alcohol. He took a chance of not self reporting because he was afraid he would get the other players in trouble too. If he would have self reported to his coach he would only have had to miss one game, but he was suspended from his last three games of the season and he didn’t get to do his senior walk. I have never seen my brother cry so hard in his life. He lost potential scholarship from colleges that had been looking at him to play Division I football. He decided not to give up because he has worked so hard all his life to play football. He took his chances and walked on at Indiana State University his freshman year. They liked what he had to offer and red shirted him so he didn’t get to play his freshman year. He finished his freshman year and started sprin ball at ISU, but wasn’t given the opportunity to return to the camp. He as so frustrated because the coaches promised him he would be playing. He made a tough decision and took his chances and transferred to University of Indianapolis. The coaches at UIndy really liked Aaron and what he had to offer and invited him to their team camp. Aaron proved himself during practices. After the first two games of the season he was put on special teams and put in as third string running back. He didn’t give up and he is doing what he loves; playing football. I am so proud of my brother for not giving up and he has taught me that even during life struggles to keep pushing on never give up.
Fall
I love when the leaves begin to change. When they turn crunchy and change all different colors. I just love fall. Its a beautiful season that God has blessed us with. I conceder it a blessing because I feel it brings relationships together. Families get there pictures taken in the leaves. I love this because its families bonding together making amazing memories to keep forever. Fall is just cozy. We get to drink hot chocolate, wear jeans, sweatshirts and boots. My favorite reason for fall is of course football! Football is my favorite getting to cuddle up in a blanket with your best friend. Thats always fun! I always remember helping my grandmother stuff scare crows with all the leaves the grandkids racked up. My grandma is silly! We would always draw funny faces on them and get the best laugh out! My mom loves taking our family to the pumpkin patch to pick out our very own pumpkins. Then she would take us to the store to buy cutting utensils. We would go home and sit it the yard and begin to care our pumpkins. I couldn't tell you how many pictures my mom would take. Our pumpkins aways turned out amazing! My oldest brother was always the best and scariest! He loves scary things like the haunted houses. He and his friends always go to Hannah Haunted Acres each year before halloween. He has so many memories and storied he love to share with great detail. My brothers silly too! I love halloween because I feel that it brings me closer to my family and my closest friends. I thank God everyday that he has blessed me with so many great people in my life. Maybe this will give you some ideas to have just as much fun as me and my family and friends during the fall.
