Bible verse


Do you have a favorite bible verse? One of my favorite scriptures is in the book of Philippians that Paul wrote. Philippians 4:8-9 says, “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praise worthy - think about such things.  Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me - put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” This scripture reminds me that God doesn't want us to ponder or think about immoral things. These things can be things we watch, read, listen to or think about.  What we put into our mind determines our actions and the way we talk. Living in this world is hard enough with all the immoral things around me, so I try to remember this scripture when I am tempted by such things. 
In order for me to apply Gods principle, it is important that I read the bible and go to church so that I know Gods words and what he expects of me. Not only is it good to read and learn Gods word but it is also good to put it into practice. God set the example for us to follow and I don't want to let him down. It is important to make these kinds of things an every day habit to open the bible and learn something new every day from the Lord. This is a good tool in scripture to use because life is not easy and there are so many temptations around me everyday. It’s not easy and I fail everyday, but I have the bible and Gods grace and forgiveness each and every day .

im different


Do you think your different from every one else? Well I do. Before I came to Lutheran High School I was dragged into the wrong crowed. They were doing bad things such as smoking and drinking. They pulled me away from my savior jesus christ. I wanted to get away from them. Even know they were my friends. I didn't want to get pressured into negative things. Maybe thats why God brought me to Lutheran. With new people and a new crowed. It gave me a fresh start. I feel l that everybody is into drugs sex and alcohol. I wanted to be different and stand out to others, so they would look at me and think, you know what she's the kind of godly person I want to be like. My mom always asked me why don't you go hang out with your friends? I would always say because I would rather hang with you and stay out of trouble. She never knew what my friends did. Thank God I was to scared to try anything they did. But one thing I never do is lie to my mom. One day I sat her down and explained to her why I didn't hang with anybody. She gave me hug as she understood where I was coming from. She was proud of me. She looked at me and said I think God that you're different and aren't afraid to be different. When she signed me up to go to lutheran. I met my boyfriend Beau my sophomore year. I feel that he has pulled me even closer to God. We think alike, we Pray together, Were just different then any other couple I see. Im so glad I have a Godly  family, and a Godly relationship with Beau. Im so proud of myself for being strong and getting out of my old crowed. All by myself, not every body can get do that. Its all because prayer and God. He saves people. And he saved me.

champ!

What is your favorite holiday? I love christmas time. Its a time to celebrate Jesus's birthday. Celebrating jesus's birthday is something my family has always done. I love christmas because I get to spend time with my family. I enjoy making crafts and making amazing cookies. I remember I still baked cookies and Get the santa plate out I always leave santa clause cookies. And of course a glass of milk. I will never forget one christmas morning.  I was 6 years old. Me and my brother Aaron woke up at my dads house. I always woke up first. I would always run into my brothers room and wake him up. Then we would both go to my dads room and wake him up. As we all walked to the stairs there were huge candy canes lined up all the way down the stairs! We ran down stairs and seen that all the cookies had been eaten. And the milk was gone too! Right new to the santa plate was a note and a bell! We opened the note and Santa Clause had left us a reindeer foot print. Signed by cupid! Then We heard a barking noise coming from a box! We sprinted over to it and opened it up! A puppy boxer jumped out into my arms! We gave our dad a big huge hug! He said "it wasn't him" Santa must of left it! We named him champ. This was the best christmas ever. I am now 17 and still pretend I believe in Santa just for my little brother to have a fun child hood! But I will never forget that jesus's birthday is the most important. Its not always about the gifts!

MyGuardian Angel


My guardian angel is my great-grandmother Stella Elizabeth Dodd.  She will be 91 years old next month.  She has been battling kidney failure for the past 4 years.  She is a very strong woman and she is full of wisdom.  She has helped raise 32 grand children and other people that have needed help at some point in their life.  Almost all the grand children have lived with her.  Granny taught them how to spread their wings and fly. She has loved all of us when we where unloveable and given us tough love when we needed it. She is the only great grandmother I have known.  We go and visit her often and when we do it makes me sad to know that one day I will not be able to sit and listen to all the stories she tells.  I ask her if she is ready to go to heaven and she says yes in the most confident voice I have ever heard.  She is a strong woman of faith and I know that she will be sitting at the feet of Jesus when she passes away.  It still does not make it easy, but knowing I will see her again one day make me happy.  I sure will miss her.  My mom is really close to her and I know it will be hard on my mom.  Granny babysat my mom and her sibling growing up because my grandma worked.  My mom spend a lot of time with Granny and she calls Granny her second mom.  I am thankful that my mom will be able to pass on traditions my Granny started in our family.  

Aaron


My older brother, Aaron, has taught me about determination and not giving up on your dreams.  I have watched him since his senior year in high school keep pursuing his dream of playing college ball even when things where at his worst. During his senior year he made a poor decision and went to a party.  Although he didn’t do anything wrong someone reported to the head football coach that he was at a party with alcohol.  He took a chance of not self reporting because he was afraid he would get the other players in trouble too. If he would have self reported to his coach he would only have had to miss one game, but he was suspended from his last three games of the season and he didn’t get to do his senior walk.  I have never seen my brother cry so hard in his life.  He lost potential scholarship from colleges that had been looking at him to play Division I football.  He decided not to give up because he has worked so hard all his life to play football.  He took his chances and walked on at Indiana State University his freshman year.  They liked what he had to offer and red shirted him so he didn’t get to play his freshman year.  He finished his freshman year and started sprin ball at ISU, but wasn’t given the opportunity to return to the camp.  He as so frustrated because the coaches promised him he would be playing. He made a tough decision and took his chances and transferred to University of Indianapolis.  The coaches at UIndy really liked Aaron and what he had to offer and invited him to their team camp.  Aaron proved himself during practices.  After the first two games of the season he was put on special teams and put in as third string running back.  He didn’t give up and he is doing what he loves; playing football.  I am so proud of my brother for not giving up and he has taught me that even during life struggles to keep pushing on never give up.

Fall


I love when the leaves begin to change. When they turn crunchy and change all different colors. I just love fall. Its a beautiful season that God has blessed us with. I conceder it a blessing because I feel it brings relationships together. Families get there pictures taken in the leaves. I love this because its families bonding together making amazing memories to keep forever. Fall is just cozy. We get to drink hot chocolate,wear jeans, sweatshirts and boots. My favorite reason for fall is of course football! Football is my favorite getting to cuddle up in a blanket with your best friend. Thats always fun! I always remember helping my grandmother stuff scare crows with all the leaves the grandkids racked up. My grandma is silly! We would always draw funny faces on them and get the best laugh out! My mom loves taking our family to the pumpkin patch to pick out our very own pumpkins. Then she would take us to the store to buy cutting utensils. We would go home and sit it the yard and begin to care our pumpkins. I couldn't tell you how many pictures my mom would take. Our pumpkins aways turned out amazing! My oldest brother was always the best and scariest! He loves scary things like the haunted houses. He and his friends always go to Hannah Haunted Acres each year before halloween. He has so many memories and storied he love to share with great detail. My brothers silly too! I love halloween because I feel that it brings me closer to my family and my closest friends. I thank God everyday that he has blessed me with so many great people in my life. Maybe this will give you some ideas to have just as much fun as me and my family and friends during the fall.

Football Managing


This year has been great so far. The boys have really worked hard. Their good work is paying off. I love helping out with the football team. Its a blessing to see how a team really works. I learned that each kid builds a bond with the coaches. Also I learned that everybody on the football team gets a chance to play. The coaches do not pick favorites. I feel like me and the players and coaches have built a bond too. They call me their little sister and they don't let anybody pick on me. Which I think is pretty awesome! Well love me because if they didn't have me there would be no football at Lutheran. When the bell rings at 3:15 I go to the locker room and get the cart full of water coolers and water bottles. I push the cart to the ice room. First I  fill they coolers up with ice. Then I fill all the bottles up with ice. After that I push the cart to the Water hose. I fill the coolers and bottles up with water. After all that done i have to put all the lids on the bottles. Then I push the cart to the gator! My favorite I get to drive the gator!! I drive it to the barn to pick up all their equipment! I have to pile every thing on top of each other to make it fit. Then I drive it all out the the football field. I unload everything and take them water when they need it. The boys are very respectful to me because I told them everything I do for you, you wouldn't know what to do with out me. So i became their best friends and I love this job!
